Equine Assisted Therapy as provided by Horses Who Heal, is covered by the NDIS

On October 3 2024 the NDIS implemented a number of changes which means that certain supports are no longer covered under the NDIS.

In the list they no longer included was Animal Therapies. However, the NDIS has clarified that Animal Therapy is not the same as Animal Assisted Therapy, and that Animal Assisted Therapy is going to continue being a covered support under the NDIS.

As many Clients and even Plan Managers have had some confusion over this, we would like to confirm that our services are covered under the NDIS.

For more information about the difference between Animal Therapy and Animal Assisted Therapy, please visit the NDIS website by clicking this link: https://www.ndis.gov.au/changes-ndis-legislation/frequently-asked-questions-about-legislation

If you search this page for "Is Animal Therapy an NDIS support?", you can check the clarification the NDIS has since provided on this.
